App Inventor migrated from Google to MIT starting in 2010 where it’s been developed by some amazing MIT staff members. App Inventor began in 2007 when Hal Abelson, professor of computer science at MIT, and Mark Friedman, led the development of the platform with the help of Googlers Liz Looney, Sharon Perl, Ellen Spertus, Karen Parker, and Debbie Wallach.
